Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared to Furnish Deliver and Install One New, Bell & Gossett Secondary Water Horizontal Split Case Pump, Series HSC3, Model 4 X 6 X 10M, for the 100 E. Erie Main Office Building Basement Mechanical Room.

 

Replacement is recommended because the existing pump is 55 years old, parts are no longer available, and it has gone beyond the industry designed life expectancy. This pump controls the circulation of the Main Office Building’s perimeter cooling and heating system and has an estimated life expectancy of 20 to 25 years.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $17,000.00.

 

The bid deposit for this contract is $850.00.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement will be included in this contract.

 

Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract because the estimate is less than the minimum threshold established by Section 4 of the Affirmative Action Ordinance.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                     July 21, 2010

Bid Opening                     August 10, 2010

Award                     September 2, 2010

Completion                     October 1, 2010

 

Funds are available in Account 101-15000-612680.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 10-403-11.
