Requesting the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners to the appointment of Ms. Manju P. Sharma as the Director of Maintenance and Operations for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (As Revised)

Dear Commissioners:
Section 2605/4 of Chapter 70, Illinois Compiled Statutes, states that the Executive Director, with the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners, shall appoint the Director of Maintenance and Operations. I hereby request that the Board of Commissioners give me its advice and consent to a permanent appointment of Ms. Manju P. Sharma as Director of Maintenance and Operations.
Ms. Sharma began her career at the District as an Assistant Civil Engineer in the Collection Facilities Division of the Engineering Department in June 1988 and progressed through the ranks to Supervising Civil Engineer in the Process Facilities Division. In July 2003 she achieved the title of Assistant Director of Maintenance and Operations, until her current appointment as Acting Director of Maintenance and Operations, as described in her career highlights attached.
Ms. Sharma has been Acting Director of Maintenance and Operations since May 1, 2010. I am pleased and proud to make this appointment of a dedicated and proven member of the Maintenance and Operations Department. Upon the consent of the Board of Commissioners, the effective date of the appointment is August 12, 2010.
