Dear Sir:

 

On May 20, 2010, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to advertise for bids, Contract 11-435-11, Maintaining Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs), Complete With Accessories, at Various District Locations for a 36 Month Period.

 

In response to a public advertisement of October 6, 2010, a bid opening was held November 2, 2010.  The bid tabulation for this contract is:

 

MOORE MEDICAL LLC                     $97,571.25

 

Three hundred thirty-eight (338) companies were notified of this contract being advertised and eighteen (18) companies requested specifications.

 

A review of the sole bid, submitted by Moore Medica LLC, revealed that the bid is 62.6 percent above the estimate and is considered too high to award.  Therefore, their bid is being rejected in the public’s best interest.  The Director of Procurement and Materials Management has notified Moore Medical LLC, of this action.

 

The Human Resources Department will review the cost estimate and revise the contract documents prior to re-advertising this contract.
