Dear Sir:
On December 20, 2012, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to advertise for bids, Contract 13-929-21 Rehabilitation of Rotating Assemblies at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant West Side Pumping Station.
In response to a public advertisement of February 27, 2012, a bid opening was held on March 26, 2012. The bid tabulation for this contract is:
PUMPING SOLUTIONS, INC. $88,750.00
XYLEM WATER SOLUTIONSUSA, INC. $90,405.00
ROTATING EQUIPMENT REPAIR, INC. *$116,397.00

Six hundred seventy-six (676) companies were notified of this contract being advertised and forty-four (44) companies requested specifications.
Pumping Solutions, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder, is proposing to perform the contract in accordance with the specifications.
The estimated cost for this contract was $95,000.00, placing the bid of $88,750.00, approximately 6.6 percent below the estimate.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) was not included in this contract because the work is performed at the contractor's facility.
The Affirmative Action Interim Ordinance, Appendix D, was not included in this contract due to the specialized nature of the work.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to award Contract 13-929-21, to Pumping Solutions, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $88,750.00, subject to the contractors furnishing a performance bond in form satisfactory to the Law Department and approved by the Director of Procurement and Materials Management.
Funds are available in Account 201-50000-645750.
