Dear Sir:
On February 7, 2013, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to advertise for bids, 13-612-11 Services of Street Sweepers at Various Locations.
In response to a public advertisement of March 6, 2013, a bid opening was held on March 26, 2013. The bid tabulation for this contract is:
GROUP A: BIOSOLIDS FACILITIES
GOSIA CARTAGE, LTD. $165,760.00
GROUP B: CALUMET WRP
NO BIDS RECEIVED
GROUP C: STICKNEY WRP
NO BIDS RECEIVED
Forty-four (44) companies were notified of this contract being advertised and twelve (12) companies requested specifications.
The sole responsive bid received for Group A of this contract was approximately 38 percent above the estimate. Therefore, their bid is rejected in the public's best interest. The Director of Procurement and Materials Management has notified Gosia Cartage, Ltd., of this action.
The contract will be re-advertised at a future date.
