Authority to approve and execute permits from the Forest Preserve District of Cook County for Contract 06-158-3S, Des Plaines River Intercepting Sewer Rehabilitation, SSA (ROW File No. 8).

Dear Sir:
In connection with Contract 06-158-3S, Des Plaines River Intercepting Sewer Rehabilitation, it is necessary to acquire permits from the Forest Preserve District of Cook County (FPDCC) for the installation, operation, and maintenance of a temporary traffic signal at two locations.
Due to the nature of the proposed sewer rehabilitation work, temporary traffic signals are required by the Illinois Department of Transportation along First Avenue, from Chicago Avenue to Roosevelt Road. Accordingly, temporary traffic signal poles and appurtenances are proposed to be located on FPDCC property at the intersections of (1) Roosevelt Road and First Avenue and (2) Washington Street and First Avenue.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and approve Permit No. 2011-006 and Permit No. 2011-007 from the FPDCC in connection with Contract 06-158-3S, Des Plaines River Intercepting Sewer Rehabilitation, SSA.
It is further requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk be authorized and directed to execute Permit No. 2011-006 and Permit No. 2011-007 from the FPDCC on behalf of the District after they are approved by the Director of Engineering as to technical matters and by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
