Dear Sir:
 
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared to furnish, deliver, and install replacement kitchen equipment in the main office building cafeteria.  These items include an oven, a grille, a deep fryer, and a steam table.
 
The existing cafeteria equipment was installed in 1985 and is nearing the end of its useful life.
 
The estimated cost for this contract is $42,500.00.
 
A bid deposit for this contract is $2,100.00.
 
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.
 
Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract because the estimate is less than the minimum threshold established by Section 4 of the Affirmative Action Ordinance.
 
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:
Advertise      February 22, 2012
Bid Opening      March 20, 2012
Award      April 5, 2012
Completion      December 31, 2012
 
Funds are available in Account 101-15000-623990.
 
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 12-435-11.
