Dear Sir:
On September 20, 2007, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order and enter into an agreement with Fryer Company, Inc., to furnish, deliver and install a Nikon 80i Research Microscope Digital Imaging Workstation, in an amount not to exceed $17,604.65.
This purchase order has no prior change orders.
The Fryer Company, the sole Nikon Instruments, Inc. distributor, exited the Bioscience market, effective September 30, 2007. As a result of this departure, the Fryer Company is no longer able to supply the product to the District.
This change order is in compliance with the Illinois Criminal Code since the change is due to circumstances not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed, and is in the best interest of the District.
It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute a change order to decrease the purchase order in an amount of $17,604.65 (100 percent of the current contract value).
Funds will be restored in Account 101-16000-634970.
