Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 12-924-11 Furnish, Deliver and Install Fire Detection System at the Westchester Pumping Station, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of the contract is to install a remotely monitored fire detection system in order to comply with the Village of Westchester’s fire ordinance codes.

 

The estimated cost of this contract is $30,000.00.

 

The bid deposit for this contract is $1,500.00.

 

The contract specifications require the contractor to commence work upon approval of the contractor’s bond and terminate one hundred and eighty days thereafter.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract because the estimate is less than the minimum threshold established by Section 4 of the Affirmative Action Ordinance.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                     March 14, 2012

Bid Opening                     April 3, 2012

Award                     May 3, 2012

Completion                     December 31, 2012

 

Funds are available in Account 101-69000-612780.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 12-924-11.
