Dear Sir:
In connection with the captioned project, it is necessary to process the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency permit review for certification of the construction, operation, and maintenance of sediment remediation and wetland construction at the site at 31st Street and Albany Avenue within the City of Chicago. This is a pilot project to research sediment remediation techniques as well treatment wetland processes.
It is requested that the General Superintendent recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and approve payment of $10,000.00.
Funds are available in Account 401-50000-667340.
It is further requested that the General Superintendent recommend to the Board of Commissioners that the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk be authorized and directed to execute any necessary documents in connection with the subject permit on behalf of the District after they are approved by the Chief Engineer as to technical matters and by the Attorney as to form and legality.
