Dear Sir:

 

Authority is requested to add Project 08-530-3P, Digester Facility Improvements, at the Hanover Park WRP to the Engineering Department Capital Improvement Program and the Capital Improvements Bond Fund and Corporate Fund at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of the project is to perform various work on mechanical and process systems in the Digester Complex to improve digester operations and maintenance. 

 

The project consists of the following:

                     Replacing valves and installing actuators to automate the digester gas isolation system to ensure safety of plant personnel

                     Installing a magnetic flow meter in the primary sludge line to provide accurate measurement of solids distribution

                     Modifying digester gas piping and optimally re-locating the magnetic flow meters to provide accurate measurement of digester gas

                     Replacing the air handling units for the Digesters and GBTs

                     Providing a water to water heat exchanger for the Digester building heating system to separate the building heating loop from the process heating loop 

 

The estimated cost of the project is $4,000,000.00.
