Dear Sir:
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 18-634-11, Inspection and Repairs to Cathodic Protection Systems, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
The purpose of this contract is to provide inspection, testing and repair of the various cathodic and impressed current corrosion protection systems for the District’s various underground tanks and pipelines, as needed, for a period of 42 months.
The estimated cost of this contract is $400,000.00. The estimated 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 expenditures are $57,700.00, $143,000.00, $126,600.00 and $72,700.00, respectively.
The bid deposit for this contract is $20,000.00.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract due to the specialized nature of the services involved.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract due to the specialized nature and scope of the work.
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:
Advertise June 13, 2018
Bid Opening July 10, 2018
Award August 2, 2018
Completion December 31, 2021
Funds for the current year are available in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612600. Funds for the subsequent years, 2019, 2020 and 2021, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 18-634-11.
