Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 21-693-11, Use of a Sanitary Landfill, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to procure the services of a sanitary landfill site for the disposal of biosolids and other materials from the Lawndale Avenue Solids Management Area and the Calumet Solids Management Area.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $79,000.00. The estimated 2021 and 2022 expenditures are not to exceed $39,500.00 and $39,500.00.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) is not applicable to this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract because the estimate is less than the minimum threshold established by Section 4 of the Affirmative Action Ordinance.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                         January 13, 2021

Bid Opening                                          February 9, 2021

Award                                                               March 4, 2021

Completion                                          December 31, 2022

 

Funds are being requested in 2021, in Accounts 101-68000/69000-612520, and are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year. Funds for the subsequent year, 2022, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 21-693-11.
