MEMORIAL RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners celebrating the life of John Fox

WHEREAS, the mission of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is to protect the health and safety of the public in its service area, protect the quality of the water supply source (Lake Michigan), improve the quality of water in water courses in its service area, protect businesses and homes from flood damages, and manage water as a vital resource for its service area; and
WHEREAS, achieving the District’s mission requires individuals who are dedicated to the public interest; and
WHEREAS, John Ramon Fox dedicated his academic career to the pursuit of an education he could use in service to the public, including a juris doctor degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law (now the Conviser Law Center at Illinois Institute of Technology) and bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fox served as an intern at the Illinois Environmental Council and law clerk at the Illinois Pollution Control Board; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fox put his quiet, studious, and dedicated nature to work every day, often seven days per week, to pursue the District’s work in the office of Commissioner Cameron Davis by working to protect the water, air, and land upon which we all rely; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fox was in the process of adding to his knowledge of law by taking classes in public finance, budgeting, and other public administration matters so he could serve the citizens of Cook County even more; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fox was an avid runner with a keen mind and easy smile, always willing to find humor yet never willing to laugh at someone else’s expense; and
WHEREAS, John was born on February 11, 1991 and passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2020; and
WHEREAS, John is survived by his parents Ramon and Patricia Fox, fiancée Alexandria Seydel, and their golden retriever Thumper; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, do hereby celebrate John’s life and dedication; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and that a copy of same, suitably engrossed, be presented to the family of John Fox.
