TRANSMITTAL LETTER FOR BOARD MEETING OF FEBRUARY 3, 2022
COMMITTEE ON PROCUREMENT
Mr. Brian A. Perkovich, Executive Director
Title
Authorization for payment to American Water Works Association for 2022 membership dues, in an amount not to exceed $23,731.00, Account 101-15000-612280
Body
Dear Sir:
Authorization is requested to make payment, by direct voucher, to American Water Works Association (AWWA) for the District’s 2022 membership dues in an amount not to exceed $23,731.00. The term of the District’s membership is January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022.
The AWWA is an international nonprofit, scientific and educational association dedicated to providing total water solutions assuring the effective management of water. AWWA membership ranks include over 4,000 utilities that supply roughly 80 percent of the nation's drinking water and treat almost half of the nation’s wastewater. Over 50,000 memberships represent the full spectrum of the water community: public water and wastewater systems, environmental advocates, scientists, academicians, and others who hold a genuine interest in water, our most important resource.
Inasmuch as AWWA membership is not available through any other source, nothing would be gained by advertising for bids (Section 11.4 of the Purchasing Act).
It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize payment, by direct voucher, to American Water Works Association, in the amount of $23,731.00. Funds are available in Account 101-15000-612280.
Requested, Shellie A. Riedle, Administrative Services Officer, SAR:JRM:CO
Recommended, Darlene A. LoCascio, Director of Procurement and Materials Management
Respectfully Submitted, Barbara J. McGowan, Chairman Committee on Procurement
