Dear Sir:
The following matter was settled upon the recommendations of the Director of Human Resources and the General Counsel, with the approval of the Executive Director:
1. Settlement of Workers’ Compensation Claim of Edward Murphy, Claim Case No: 22WC08423, in the amount of $7,000.00.
Edward Murphy, a Pipefitter at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant, alleged a December 5, 2021 work-related injury after he reported contracting COVID-19 from coworkers. Mr. Murphy was off of work beginning December 6, 2021, and returned December 22, 2021. Mr. Murphy was not paid any lost time benefits. Settlement in the amount of $7,000.00 will close out any future lost time benefits as well as any future medical benefits.
