TRANSMITTAL LETTER FOR BOARD MEETING OF MARCH 16, 2023
COMMITTEE ON PROCUREMENT
Mr. Brian A. Perkovich, Executive Director
Title
Issue purchase order to Thomas Pump Company, to Furnish and Deliver Repair Parts for Cornell Pumps at the Palos Park Pumping Station, in an amount not to exceed $39,498.00, Account 101-68000-623270, Requisition 1595661.
Body
Dear Sir:
Authorization is requested to issue a purchase order to Thomas Pump Company, to furnish and deliver two Cornell water pump rotating assemblies and repair parts, to replace defective units at the Palos Park Pumping Station. All parts will be delivered before December 31, 2023.
Thomas Pump Company, the sole source provider, has submitted prices for the parts required. Inasmuch as Thomas Pump Company is the only source of supply for the parts required, nothing would be gained by advertising for bids (Section 11.4 of the Purchasing Act).
Thomas Pump Company is registered and in good standing with the State of Illinois.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) is not applicable because this is primarily a furnish and deliver order.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included because Thomas Pump Company is the sole provider of these parts.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to issue a purchase order to Thomas Pump Company, in an amount not to exceed $39,498.00.
Funds are available in Account 101-68000-623270.
Requested, John P. Murray, Director of Maintenance and Operations
Recommended, Darlene A. LoCascio, Director of Procurement and Materials Management, DAL:SEB:MS:cc
Respectfully Submitted, Marcelino Garcia, Chairman, Committee on Procurement
Disposition of this agenda item will be documented in the official Regular Board Meeting Minutes of the Board of Commissioners for March 16, 2023
