Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 20-690-11, Large Electric Motor Overhaul at Various Locations, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is for the off-site rehabilitation of 25 large blower and main sewage pump motors at various locations. The District trades will perform any on-site labor required.

 

The estimated cost of this Contract is $1,511,000.00. The estimated 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 expenditures are $378,000.00, $470,000.00, $347,000.00 and $316,000.00 respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because the work takes place at the contractor’s facility.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract because of the limited availability of MBE/WBE participants and specialization of the project.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise:                    May 20, 2020

Bid Opening:               June 10,, 2020

Award:                        July 16, 2020

Completion:                December 31, 2023

 

Funds for the 2020 expenditure are available in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612650. Funds for the subsequent years, 2021, 2022 and 2023 are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 20-690-11.
