Dear Sir:
Authorization is requested to issue a purchase order to Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc., to provide Flygt Model SR-4640 submersible replacement mixers to the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant. The replacement mixers will be for the WAS Thickening Tanks at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant. These replacement mixers will be delivered before December 31, 2025.
Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc., the sole source provider of these replacement mixers, has submitted pricing for the services required. Inasmuch as the Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc., is the only source of supply for the parts required, nothing would be gained by advertising for bids (Section 11.4 of the Purchasing Act).
Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc., is registered and in good standing with the State of Illinois.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) is not applicable because the requirement does not fall under the provisions of the MPLA.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D and Appendix V, is not applicable because Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc. is the sole provider of these parts.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to issue a purchase order to Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $56,385.60.
Funds are available in Account 101-69000-623070.
