Dear Sir:
Authorization is requested to make payment to the Illinois Central Railroad Company to rehabilitate a railroad crossing, in a total amount of $70,303.90.
This work is required to rehabilitate the railroad crossing located south of the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant, at Edmier Road and Laramie Avenue. Pursuant to an easement agreement granted to the District, the rehabilitation is performed by the railroad and reimbursed by the District.
Inasmuch as this work will be performed pursuant to the easement agreement, nothing would be gained by advertising for bids (Section 11.4 of the Purchasing Act).
It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize payment, by direct voucher, to the Illinois Central Railroad Company in an amount of $70,303.90. Funds are available in Account 201-50000-645790.
