TRANSMITTAL LETTER FOR BOARD MEETING OF JANUARY 8, 2026

COMMITTEE ON REAL ESTATE

Mr. John P. Murray, Executive Director

Title

Authority to grant the City of Northlake a 25-year, approximately 1,263 sq. ft. non-exclusive easement to continue to operate and maintain a stormwater lift station on District real estate located south of Diversey Avenue near the Northlake Reservoir in Northlake, Illinois. Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00

Body

Dear Sir:

The City of Northlake (“Northlake”) operates and maintains a stormwater lift station which connects to the Northlake Reservoir via Addison Creek in Northlake, Illinois. The lift station is part of the storm sewer system extending from Diversey Avenue. Northlake has an easement for the portion of the lift station which traverses a 20-foot wide strip of District real estate. The existing easement commenced June 7, 2001, and expires June 6, 2026.

Northlake has requested a new 25-year easement to continue operating and maintaining the stormwater lift station.

The District’s technical departments have reviewed this easement request and have no objections thereto. A nominal fee of $10.00 is recommended as Northlake is a governmental entity using District property for a public purpose.

It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it grant the City of Northlake a 25-year, approximately 1,263 sq. ft. non-exclusive easement to continue to operate and maintain a stormwater lift station on District real estate located south of Diversey Avenue near the Northlake Reservoir in Northlake, Illinois. Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00.

It is also requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and direct the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk to execute said easement agreement after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.

Requested, Susan T. Morakalis, General Counsel, STM:BJD:KHY:vp

Recommended, John P. Murray, Executive Director
