Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 20-689-11, Test and Repair Underground Storage Tanks at Various Locations, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to test and repair the District’s underground storage tanks as required by the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal for a three-year period.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $236,800.00. The estimated 2021, 2022, and 2023 expenditures are $89,100.00, $74,100.00, and $73,600.00, respectively. 

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) was not included in this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D, will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is within the “Mechanical” category for establishing Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) utilization goals. The tailored utilization goals for this contract are 20% MBE and/or WBE and 10% SBE. Appendix V will not be included.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening                                          October 6, 2020

Award                                                              November 5, 2020

Completion                                           December 31, 2023

                    

Funds in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612240/612490/623070/623270 for years 2021, 2022, and 2023 are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 20-689-11.
