Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 20-650-11, Pavement Rehabilitation at Various Service Areas, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of the contract is to procure services to rehabilitate asphalt and concrete pavement at District facilities over a three-year period.

 

The estimated cost of this contract is not to exceed $1,200,000.00. The estimated 2020, 2021 and 2022 expenditures are not to exceed $400,000.00, $400,000.00 and $400,000.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is within the “Concrete” category for establishing Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE) and Small Business Enterprises (SBE) utilization goals. The MBE, WBE and SBE utilization goals for this contract are: 20% MBE, 10% WBE and 10% SBE. Appendix V will not be included.

 

It is estimated that this contract will employ five to six personnel.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening                                                               June 9, 2020

Award                                                                                    July 16, 2020

Completion                                                               December 31, 2022

 

Funds are available in 2020 in Accounts 101-66000/67000/68000/69000-612420. Funds for the subsequent years, 2021 and 2022, are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners' approval of the District's budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 20-650-11.
