Authority to advertise Contract 24-691-11, Truck Hauling of Processed Solids for LASMA and CALSMA, estimated cost $2,463,500.00, Accounts 101-68000/69000-612520, Requisitions 1606396 and 1606558

Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 24-691-11, Truck Hauling of Processed Solids for LASMA and CALSMA, for a one-year period, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The contract is for loading and transporting biosolids to drying areas and various controlled solids distribution sites, such as golf courses and park districts. There will be two groups: Group A for LASMA and Group B for CALSMA. Separate contracts could be awarded for each group. 

 

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $2,463,500.00.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is classified as “Hauling Services” for establishing utilization goals. The utilization goals for this contract are 20% Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), 13% Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and 3% Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (VBE).

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                              January 3, 2024

Bid Opening                    January 30, 2024

Award                                                      March 7, 2024

Completion                      March 31, 2025

 

Funds are available in Accounts 101-68000/69000-612520.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 24-691-11.
