Mr. Brian A. Perkovich, Executive Director

Title

Authority to advertise Contract 25-104-11 Replacement Outboard Motors for PC30 Boat, estimated cost $99,500.00, Account 101-16000-634790, Requisition 1628542 (As Revised)

Body

Dear Sir:

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 25-104-11 Replacement Outboard Motors for PC30 Boat at the request of the Monitoring and Research Department. The contract involves removal of the existing two (2) motors, accessory equipment, and installation of new motors, controls, displays, steering assist system, and stainless-steel propellers. This contract will end on June 1, 2025.

The purpose of this contract is to replace the motors on the District’s PC30 boat, as they have reached the end of their lifespan. Both motors have logged 3,200 hours of use, exceeding the typical lifespan of 2,000 to 3,000 hours for Honda Marine 225 HP outboard motors.

The estimated cost for this contract is $99,500.00.

A bid deposit is not required for this contract.

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) is not applicable to this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D is not included in this contract because the estimate is less than the minimum threshold established by Section 4 of the Affirmative Action Ordinance.

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                     January 8, 2025

Bid Opening                     January 28, 2025

Award                     February 20, 2025

Completion                     June 1, 2025

Funds are being requested in 2025, in Account 101-16000-634790, and is contingent on the Board of Commissioner’s approval of the District’s budget for that year.

Requested, Edward W. Podczerwinski, Director of Monitoring and Research, EWP:RA:HZ:DG:jb

Recommended, Darlene A. LoCascio, Director of Procurement and Materials Management

Respectfully Submitted, Marcelino Garcia, Chairman Committee on Procurement
