Authority to advertise Contract 21-616-11 Furnish and Deliver Chiller Parts and Services to various locations, in an amount not to exceed $470,000.00, Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612680/623070/623270, Requisitions 1565175, 1565176, 1565177 and 1565178

Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 21-616-11, Furnish and Deliver Chiller Parts and Services to various locations, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to procure chiller parts and technical support for various District facility chiller systems for a three year period. The work is limited to specialized repairs and adjustments to the chiller systems, such as controls and the lithium bromide solutions of steam-powered absorption chillers, which require the services of a trained, certified, and licensed chiller technician.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $470,000.00. The estimated 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 expenditures are not to exceed $17,400.00, $124,500.00, $164,000.00, and $164,100.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is within the “Miscellaneous Building Construction” for establishing Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) utilization goals. The tailored utilization goals for this contract are 10% MBE and/or WBE and 10% SBE.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Award                                                               September 23, 2021

Completion                                           September 23, 2024

                    

Funds for 2021 are available in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612680/623070/623270. Funds for the subsequent years, 2022, 2023 and 2024, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 21-616-11.
