Dear Sir:
Authorization is requested to issue a purchase order to Arends Hogan Walker LLC, DBA AHW LLC, to furnish and deliver one (1) new John Deere Model 8R280 tractor to the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant. The vehicle will be delivered by December 31, 2026.
Sourcewell (formerly NJPA) currently has a competitively bid contract with Deere and Company (082923-DAC) for agricultural tractors. Arends Hogan Walker LLC, DBA AHW LLC, is an authorized local dealer for Deere and Company. On May 19, 2011, the Board of Commissioners granted authority to participate in the NJPA purchasing cooperative. The contracts were established to enable all state agencies and authorized local governmental units to purchase equipment during the contract period. The term of contract 082923-DAC began on October 16, 2023 and expires on October 11, 2027.
This order consists of the procurement of one (1) new John Deere Model 8R280 tractor for the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant. The tractor will be used by District staff to support the aeration and pumping of the lagoons as well as the tilling of drying sites at the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant.
Arends Hogan Walker LLC, DBA AHW LLC, is registered and in good standing with the State of Illinois.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) is not applicable because the requirement does not fall under the provisions of the MPLA.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D and Appendix V, are not applicable to this requirement because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.
The Procurement and Materials Management Department believes that participating in the Sourcewell contract will expedite the ordering and delivery of the vehicle and reduce administrative costs.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to issue a purchase order to Arends Hogan Walker LLC, DBA AHW LLC, in an amount not to exceed $388,819.96.
Funds are available in Account 101-68000-634760.
