Dear Sir:
On December 17, 2015, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to advertise for bids, Contract 16-361-11, Public Tender of Bids a 36-Year Lease on 0.535 Acres of District Real Estate Located at 20 Harbor Drive in Wilmette, Illinois; North Shore Channel Parcel 1.14.
In response to a public advertisement of January 6, 2016, a bid opening was held on January 26, 2016. The bid tabulation for this contract is:
SHERIDAN SHORE YACHT CLUB $140,207.00
One hundred sixty-one (161) companies were notified of this contract and twelve (12) companies requested bid documents.
The District received an email on February 28, 2016, and a letter on March 4, 2016, indicating Sheridan Shore Yacht Club is withdrawing its bid. In accordance with the terms and conditions of the bid documents, “in the event that a bidder withdraws or cancels his proposal, then the sum deposited by said bidder shall be forfeited to the District.” Therefore, the bid is rejected and the bid deposit, in the amount of $70,104.00, will be retained. The Director of Procurement and Materials Management has notified Sheridan Shore Yacht Club of this action.
The contract will be re-advertised in the near future.
