MEMORIAL RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners celebrating the life of Lillian H. Guider
Body
WHEREAS, Lillian H. Guider was born on May 15, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Otha and Lillian Hardy. Ms. Guider was a lifelong resident of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Guider was employed with the Chicago Board of Education for 26 years. In addition, she also worked as a telephone operator with Illinois Bell and a clerical assistant with Extension Magazine. Ms. Guider was committed to helping others, and as part of her commitment she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, volunteered with the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church Food Pantry, and participated in numerous other church and community organizations; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Guider leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, of whom she was extremely proud, her three grandchildren and three great grandchildren, in addition to her extended family and countless friends; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Guider was a classy woman, who always displayed dignity, respect, and courtesy throughout her life. She built her family around the qualities that she learned as a young girl, and she represented her status as matriarch of the family most remarkably throughout her lifetime; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Guider celebrated her 100th birthday this year. While her absence will surely be felt, her presence on this Earth for 100 years and 16 days was exceptional; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, do hereby celebrate the life of Lillian H. Guider; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and that a copy of same, suitably engrossed, be presented.
