Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared to furnish and deliver a low boy trailer to the Calumet Service Area.

 

The purpose of this contract is to procure a low boy trailer for the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant. This equipment will be used to provide over the road transportation for Calumet’s larger pieces of heavy equipment.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $75,000.00.

 

The bid deposit for this contract is $3,750.00.

 

Revised Appendix D and the Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) are not applicable to this contract because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract for equipment.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                          January 14, 2009

Bid Opening                                          February 3, 2009

Award                                          March 5, 2009

Completion                                          August 21, 2009

 

Funds are being requested in 2009, in Account 101-68000-634860, and are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to advertise Contract 09-805-11.
