Dear Sir:
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 27-730-11, Furnishing and Delivering Aluminum Sulfate, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
The purpose of this contract is to procure aluminum sulfate at the O’Brien Water Reclamation Plant for a twenty-four (24) month period.
The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $3,200,000.00. The estimated 2027 and 2028 expenditures are $700,000.00 and $2,500,000.00, respectively.
The bid deposit for this contract is $160,000.00. The chemical is needed to comply with the District’s NPDES permit.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because it is a furnish and deliver contract.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract because there are no subcontracting opportunities for this specialization of work.
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening December 8, 2026
Award January 7, 2027
Completion December 31, 2028
Funds for 2027 and 2028 are being requested in Account 101-67000-623560 and are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners' approval of the District's budget for those years.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 27-730-11.
