Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00
Body
Dear Sir:
The Chicago Park District (“CPD”) currently occupies an approximately 0.13-acre portion of North Shore Channel Parcel 7.02 located west of Kedzie Avenue and North of Devon Avenue in Lincolnwood, Illinois, under a permit that commenced May 6, 2019, and expires May 5, 2024. The permit is for the purpose of installing and maintaining a 21’ x 10’ x 8’ sculpture.
CPD has requested a new 5-year permit, commencing May 6, 2024, and expiring May 5, 2029, for the continued use of this site for the existing sculpture. North Shore Channel Parcel 7.02 is leased by the Chicago Transit Authority (“CTA”) for the purpose of operating a bus turnaround under a lease that commenced December 1, 2002, and expires November 30, 2041. CTA previously consented to CPD’s existing permit, and CTA’s consent will also be required for the new permit.
The District’s technical departments have reviewed CPD’s request and have no objections thereto. A nominal fee of $10.00 is recommended as CPD is a governmental entity utilizing the property in furtherance of a public purpose.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and approve the issuance of a 5-year permit to the Chicago Park District for continued use of an approximately 0.13-acre portion of North Shore Channel Parcel 7.02 located west of Kedzie Avenue and north of Devon Avenue in Lincolnwood, Illinois, to install, maintain, replace, and remove a sculpture. Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00.
It is further requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and direct the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk to execute said permit agreement after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
Requested, Susan T. Morakalis, General Counsel, STM:BJD:NOC:mmv
