Dear Sir:
On October 4, 2012, the Board of Commissioners authorized the award of Contract 12-680-11, to Trinity Roofing Services, Inc., for Roof Repair Services at Stickney Water Reclamation Plant and Outlying Areas, in an amount not to exceed $54,899.00.
On October 5, 2012, the Director of Procurement and Materials Management notified Trinity Roofing Services, Inc., of the award of this contract to their firm. Trinity Roofing Services, Inc., notified the Procurement and Materials Management Department on November 9, 2012, that they could not obtain a Contractor's Bond and will not be able to execute the contract.
Therefore, Trinity Roofing Services, Inc., has been notified that the award of this contract will be rescinded, and the bid deposit in the amount of $2,400.00 will be retained as liquidated damages in accordance with the contract documents.
As a result, Trinity Roofing Services, Inc., is considered a non-responsible bidder under section 70 ILCS 2605/11.11 of the Purchasing Act.
The Maintenance and Operations Department will review and re-advertise this contract in the future.
