Dear Sir:
The following matters were settled upon the recommendations of the Director of Human Resources and the General Counsel, with the approval of the Executive Director:
1. Settlement of Property Damage Claim of Eddie Wiggins, Claim No: A/P 1569, in the amount of $244.45.
While at the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant on April 27, 2026, a vehicle owned by Eddie Wiggins, was allegedly struck and damaged on the driver’s side mirror by a District-owned vehicle. This settlement satisfies the total damages sought to repair Mr. Wiggins’ vehicle.
2. Settlement of Workers’ Compensation Claim of David Macikas, Claim Case No. W004405025, in the amount of $2,823.98.
David Macikas, a Machinist at the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant, alleged an August 19, 2024 work related injury to his hand while loading scrap on a conveyor belt in a dumpster. Mr. Macikas underwent trigger finger release surgery on October 17, 2024. Mr. Macikas was off work beginning October 17, 2024, and returned October 28, 2024. Settlement in the amount of $2,823.98 represents approximately 10% loss of use of the left ring finger. This settlement will close out any future lost time benefits as well as any future medical benefits.
