Body

Dear Sir:

On April 15, 2021, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to advertise for bids, Contract 20-901-21, Rehabilitate One Electric Motor at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant.

In response to a public advertisement of May 12, 2021, a bid opening was held on June 8, 2021.  The bid tabulation for this contract is:

L&S ELECTRIC, INC.                     $366,950.00

HARRISON ELECTRIC, INC.                     $381,000.00

Louis Allis, LLC, the lowest responsible bidder, is proposing to perform the contract in accordance with the specifications.  The estimated cost for this contract is $380,000.00, placing their bid of $304,630.00 approximately 19.8 percent below the estimate.

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement was not included in this contract because the work will be performed at the Contractor’s facility.

The contract will require approximately five (5) to ten (10) people for the services.

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to award Contract 20-901-21 to Louis Allis, LLC, in an amount not to exceed $304,630.00.

The work under this contract shall begin upon approval of the Contractor’s bond and terminate by December 31, 2021, or upon expenditure of available funds, whichever occurs sooner.

Funds are available in Account 201-50000-645750.
