Body

Dear Sir:

Cook County School District 130 Public Schools (Lincoln School) has requested a 2-day permit to use approximately 12.13 acres of District land located between Division and Chatham Streets in Blue Island, Illinois, known as Cal-Sag Channel Atlas Parcel 15.04 for conducting Lincoln School’s annual student/teacher “Field Day” comprising outdoor field activities such as relay races and lawn games.  The District’s Cal-Sag Channel Atlas Parcel 15.04 is located behind Lincoln School.

“Field Day” is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2008, and Wednesday, May 28, 2008, if needed for a rain date.  The permit will therefore be issued for those days and will be limited to Lincoln School’s school day hours of 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.  Lincoln School has advised that Lincoln School staff and parents will monitor the activities throughout the day and will clean up any debris left behind from the activities.

Lincoln School has requested a waiver of the five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) indemnity bond and the environmental insurance coverage requirements.  There are no objections to this request.  The permit will otherwise be subject to the District’s standard requirements and any conditions imposed by the District’s technical departments.

It is requested that the General Superintendent recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and approve the issuance of a 2-day permit to Cook County School District 130 Public Schools to use approximately 12.13 acres of District land located between Division and Chatham Streets in Blue Island, Illinois, known as Cal-Sag Channel Atlas Parcel 15.04 for conducting Lincoln School’s annual student/teacher “Field Day” subject to the terms and conditions stated herein.  Consideration shall be $10.00.

It is further requested that the General Superintendent recommend to the Board of Commissioners that the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk be authorized and directed to execute said permit agreement after same is approved by the Attorney as to form and legality.

Requested, Frederick M. Feldman, Attorney, FMF:CL:STM:NPE:nm
