Authority to advertise Contract 24-697-11, Services of Tractors with Rotavators and Sludge Pumps with Operators, estimated cost $1,797,000.00, Accounts 101-68000/69000-612520, Requisitions 1610007 and 1610579

Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 24-697-11, Services of Tractors with Rotavators and Sludge Pumps with Operators, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

This contract will provide equipment and labor to aerate and pump biosolids in preparation for their beneficial use. There will be two groups: Group A for LASMA and Group B for CALSMA. Separate contracts could be awarded for each group.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $1,797,000.00. The estimated 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027 expenditures are $248,300.00, $599,000.00, $599,000.00, and $350,700.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract because of the limited availability of MBE/WBE/VBE subcontractors to perform the scope of work specified in the contract.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                            February 21, 2024

Bid Opening                     March 12, 2024

Award                                                   April 4, 2024

Completion                      May 6, 2027

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 24-697-11.

 

Funds are available in 2024 in Accounts 101-68000/69000-612520. Funds for the subsequent years 2025, 2026, and 2027, are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.
