RESOLUTION FOR BOARD MEETING OF DECEMBER 18, 2025
Title
RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners congratulating the Fenwick High School football team on winning the state championship
Body
WHEREAS, Fenwick High School is a private Catholic high school in Oak Park. Opened in 1929, Fenwick High School focuses on the full and harmonious development of its students; and
WHEREAS, earlier this month, the Fenwick Friars football team ended a great season under coach Matt Battaglia by beating the East St. Louis Flyers in a major upset, with a final score of 38 to 28. The win marked the first Class 6A title for the Friars; and
WHEREAS, the Friars defense made crucial plays, including a second quarter interception return that set up a touchdown, shifting momentum. Simultaneously, the team’s offense capitalized on that momentum, relentlessly marching down the field to victory, leading to the odds-defying upset against heavily favored and defending 6A champion East St. Louis; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and our staff, do hereby congratulate the Fenwick High School football team; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and that a copy of same, suitably engrossed, be presented to the Fenwick High School football team.
