Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 25-605-21, Lockport Powerhouse Tailrace Barrier.

 

The purpose of this contract is to design, furnish, and install a public safety waterway barrier system at the tailrace of the Lockport Powerhouse to prevent boaters from traveling or drifting towards the downstream side of the powerhouse during generator and pit gate operations.

 

The estimated cost of this contract is $208,000.00.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D, and Appendix V will not be included in this contract because there are no MBE/WBE/VBE contractors available to perform the scope of work.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                                               June 18, 2025

Bid Opening                                                      July 15, 2025

Award                                                                       August 14, 2025

Completion                                                         December 31, 2025

 

Funds for 2025 are available in Account 201-50000-645620.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 25-605-21.
