Dear Sir:

 

Authority is requested to add Project 06-842-3E, DCS and Electrical Work, HPWRP, KWRP, EWRP to the Engineering Department Capital Improvements Program and the Capital Improvements Bond Fund at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of the project is to connect equipment to the existing Distributed Control System (DCS) for improved control and monitoring at all three plants, which will result in better reliability and performance.

 

The project consists of the following:

                     Replacing blower controls at Kirie WRP.

                     New pushbutton controls for the filter valves at Egan WRP.

                     Connect instrumentation and mechanical and electrical equipment to the DCS at all three plants.

                     Provide Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) power to DCS cabinets at all three plants.

                     Replacement of miscellaneous electrical equipment at all three plants.

                     Automate various manual gates and connect to the DCS at all three plants.

 

The estimated cost of the project is $2,000,000.00.
