Dear Sir:
On March 20, 2008, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Purchasing Agent to advertise for bids for Contract 08-685-11 Furnish and Deliver Rain Barrels to Various Locations.
In response to a public advertisement of April 16, 2008, a bid opening was held on April 29, 2008. The bid tabulation for this contract is:
L & N Supply Company, Inc. $315,200.00
Seventy-three (73) companies were notified of this contract being advertised and ten (10) companies requested specifications.
The sole bidder for this contract submitted an alternate bid with their proposal. Under the General Requirements, Specifications and Conditions of the Contract Documents, it expressly states that any proposal which indicates multiple or alternate bids shall be deemed non-responsive and rejected by the Purchasing Agent.
In view of the foregoing, the bid for the above stated contract has been rejected by the Purchasing Agent in the public’s best interest.
The contract will be reviewed prior to re-advertisement.
