Dear Sir:

 

On July 11, 2024, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to advertise for bids Contract 24-638-21, HVAC Improvements at Various Locations.

 

In response to a public advertisement of August 28, 2024, a bid opening was held on November 19, 2024. The bid tabulation for this contract is:

 

GROUP A:  STICKNEY SERVICE AREA

IHC CONSTRUCTION CO LLC                                                                                    $23,775,000.00

 

GROUP B:  CALUMET SERVICE AREA

AUTUMN CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, INC.                                          $1,348,000.00

 

A review of the bid submitted by IHC Construction Companies LLC (IHC) for Group A is approximately 29 percent over the engineers estimate of $18,443,000.00 and is considered too high for award.

 

A review of the bid submitted by Autumn Construction Services, Inc. (Autumn) for Group B is approximately 92 percent over the engineers estimate of $701,325.00 and is considered too high for award.

 

The Director of Maintenance and Operations requested to reject all bids. Therefore, the Director of Procurement and Materials Management has notified IHC and Autumn that their bids are rejected based on the above information and in the public’s best interest.

 

The Maintenance and Operations Department will re-advertise this contract.
