Authority to commence statutory procedures to lease 2.5 acres of District real estate located at 15680 Canal Bank Road in Lemont, Illinois, known as Main Channel Parcel 23.10

Dear Sir:
DCC Propane has requested to continue leasing 2.5 acres of District real estate located at 15680 Canal Bank Road in Lemont, Illinois, known as Main Channel Parcel 23.10 (“MCP 23.10”). DCC Propane currently leases the site for the operation of a retail propane distribution business, including bulk storage. DCC Propane and its predecessors have been occupying the site since 1984, with the current lease expiring May 31, 2023. The current annual rent is $55,216.35. If DCC Propane is the successful bidder, it intends to continue the same use. The requested lease term is for three (3) years.
The District’s technical departments have reviewed this lease request and have indicated that the subject site is not currently needed for corporate use and that they have no technical objections thereto. The Village of Lemont has no objections to the proposed lease of the property.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and direct the General Counsel to commence statutory procedures to lease 2.5 acres of District real estate located at 15680 Canal Bank Road in Lemont, Illinois, known as Main Channel Parcel 23.10, upon the terms and conditions set forth herein.
