Dear Sir:
 
In connection with Contract 10-884-AF, Upper Salt Creek Arlington Heights Branch Flood Control Project in Palatine, IL, we request approval to negotiate intergovernmental agreements outlining various responsibilities associated with the proposed improvements, such as operation and maintenance, with the Village of Palatine, the Palatine Park District, the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
 
Contract 10-884-AF consists of installing a bypass storm sewer, small berm, and flap gates in order to improve stormwater flow to reduce flooding damages south of Dundee Road in the Village of Palatine.
 
Based on the foregoing, the Engineering Department recommends that the District be authorized to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the Village of Palatine, the Palatine Park District, the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, and the Illinois Department of Transportation for certain responsibilities to be negotiated by the District, and that the Chairman of the Committee on Finance, the Executive Director and the Clerk be authorized to execute said intergovernmental agreements on behalf of the District, upon approval by the Directors of the Engineering, Maintenance & Operations, and Monitoring & Research Departments as to technical matters and by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
