Authority to commence statutory procedures to lease approximately 2.5 acres of District real estate located at 15680 Canal Bank Road in Lemont, Illinois; Main Channel Parcel 23.10 (portion)

Dear Sir:

 

DCC Propane (f/k/a Hicksgas) has requested to continue leasing approximately 2.5 acres of District real estate located at 15680 Canal Bank Road, Lemont, Illinois, known as Main Channel Parcel 23.10 (“MC 23.10”), for a new 14-year term. DCC Propane currently leases the site for the operation of a retail propane distribution business, including bulk storage. DCC Propane and its predecessors have been occupying the site since 1984, with the current lease expiring May 31, 2026.

 

The District’s technical departments have reviewed this lease request and have indicated that the subject site is not currently needed for corporate use, and that they have no technical objections thereto. The Village of Lemont has expressed support for the continued leasing of MC 23.10. 

 

It is requested that the Acting Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and direct the General Counsel to commence statutory procedures to lease approximately 2.5 acres of District real estate located at 15680 Canal Bank Road in Lemont, Illinois; Main Channel Parcel 23.10 (portion).
