Report on advertisement of Request for Proposal 16-RFP-07 Workplace Violence Awareness Training, estimated cost $100,000.00, Account 101-25000-612430, Requisition 1420661

Body

Dear Sir:

Request for Proposal documents have been prepared for Workplace Violence Awareness Training at the request of the Human Resources Department.

The purpose of this contract is to select a vendor to develop and conduct Workplace Violence Awareness Training classes for approximately 1,900 employees and separate training classes for employees assigned to the District’s Threat Management Team (TMT).

The proposed training will communicate the District’s zero tolerance policy regarding workplace violence, discuss current issues on the subject, train employees to recognize early indicators and warning signs of potential workplace violence and present reporting procedures. The TMT training will cover the same content as the employee training, but will also include information and tools to assess situations involving threatening and violent behavior, ways to respond to an emergency situation or a crisis with mitigating strategies, procedures for investigating incidents and debriefing to reasonably prevent recurrence. The anticipated start date for this contract is June 1, 2016 with training completed by December 31, 2016.

The estimated cost for this contract is $100,000.00.

No bid deposit is required for this RFP.

Appendix A will not be included in this RFP because the estimate is less than the minimum threshold established by Section 4 of the Affirmative Action Ordinance.
