Dear Sir:
On January 5, 2023, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to issue a purchase order for Contract 23-935-11, Furnishing and Delivering Sodium Hydroxide, to Alexander Chemical Corporation, in an amount not to exceed $644,646.80. The contract expires on June 4, 2024.
As of April 29, 2024, the attached list of change orders has been approved.

The decrease in value is requested to close out the contract. The need for chemicals depends on operating conditions, and the exact quantities were not known at the time the contract was drafted. This change order is in compliance with the Illinois Criminal Code since the change is due to circumstances not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed and is in the best interest of the District.
It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to execute a change order to decrease Contract 23-935-11, in an amount of $51,064.58 (approximately 6.5% of the current contract value), from an amount of $779,799.80, to an amount not to exceed $728,735.22.
Funds will be restored to Account 101-69000-623560.
