TRANSMITTAL LETTER FOR BOARD MEETING OF MAY 4, 2023

COMMITTEE ON PROCUREMENT

Mr. Brian A. Perkovich, Executive Director

Title

Issue a purchase order to Peterson and Matz, Inc. to Furnish and Deliver Three (3) Wilo Submersible Grit Pumps, and Three Lifting Chains, in an amount not to exceed $66,285.00, Accounts 101-68000-634650, Requisition 1597280.

Body

Dear Sir:

Authorization is requested to issue a purchase order to Peterson and Matz, Inc. to furnish and deliver three Wilo submersible grit pumps and three stainless steel lifting chains for the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant. The parts will be delivered by December 31, 2023.

Peterson and Matz, Inc., the sole source provider for the three pumps and chains, has submitted prices for the parts required.  Inasmuch as Peterson and Matz, Inc., is the only source of supply for the parts required, nothing would be gained by advertising for bids (Section 11.4 of the Purchasing Act).

Peterson and Matz, Inc. is registered and in good standing with the State of Illinois.

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) is not applicable to this requisition because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D and Appendix V, are not included because Peterson and Matz, Inc. is the sole provider of these parts.

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to issue a purchase order to Peterson and Matz, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $66,285.00.

Funds are available in Accounts 101-68000-634650.

Requested, John P. Murray, Director of Maintenance and Operations

Recommended, Darlene A. LoCascio, Director of Procurement and Materials Management, DAL:SEB:MS:cc

Respectfully Submitted, Marcellino Garcia, Chairman Committee on Procurement
