Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 19-707-21 Rebuild Gatehouses 1 & 2 and the Sludge Concentration Building at the O’Brien Water Reclamation Plant, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to restore the exterior of Gatehouses 1 & 2 and the Sludge Concentration Building at the O’Brien Water Reclamation Plant, including all masonry, tuckpointing, lintel repair, damaged glass block replacement, caulking and sealing doors and windows, and grinding and caulking capstones and limestone.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $155,000.00.

 

The bid deposit for this contract is $7,700.00.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is within the “Miscellaneous Building Construction” category for establishing Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), Small Business Enterprises (SBE) and Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises (VBE) utilization goals. The utilization goals for this contract are: 20% MBE, 9% WBE, 10% SBE and 3% VBE.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening                                          April 9, 2019

Award                                                               May 2, 2019

Completion                                           December 31, 2019

 

Funds are available in Account 201-50000-645780.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 19-707-21.
