Dear Sir:
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Services to Remove Hazardous Materials from various District locations, on an as-needed basis, for a three-year period.
The purpose of this contact is to provide specialized removal services for hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, mold, and other materials or pathogens that could pose a health risk to employees. The services are required on an as-needed basis to maintain workplace safety.
The estimated cost for this contract is $275,000.00. The estimated expenditures for 2024, 2025, and 2026 are $92,500.00, $92,500.00, and $90,000.00 respectively
A bid deposit is not required for this contract.
The contract states work shall commence upon the approval of the contractor’s bond, as directed by the Safety Manager or designee, and shall be completed on or before December 31, 2026. This contract begins on January 1, 2024, and ends on December 31, 2026.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement will be included in this contract.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is within the “General Construction Services” category for establishing Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE) utilization goals. The MBE and WBE utilization goals for this contract are 20 percent MBE, 10 percent WBE.

Completion December 31, 2026
Funds for 2024, 2025, and 2026 will be requested in Account 101-25000-612780, and are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 24-348-11.
